CHANDIGARH, Terming the stand of both Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Congress on the issue of SYL as mere “political drama”, Aam Admi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann today claimed that under the garb of burying the SYL Canal, land, Mining and Wood Mafia backed by SAD was active in the area.
“Indulged in credit-war, both Congress and SAD were befooling the public, as the original owner of the land, which is claimed to be de-notified by state assembly are still confused, whether they will get their land back or it will be grabbed by land mafia”. Bhagwant Mann said.
“People of Punjab are smart enough to understand the ‘drama’ of these politicians and give them a befitting reply at an appropriate time during poll”, Mann said adding people were confused from where the JCB machines are coming and who are illegally encroaching the land under political patronage.
Punjab Government should clarify the position of the De-notified of SYL Land Bill. Whether the de-notified land has already been transferred to its real owners? Who are all those encroachers, whether real owners of land or mafia.
“Instead of playing with the emotions of People, till the Bill for de-notifying the SYL land is signed by Governor, Revenue Department should finalised the list of ‘real owners’ of the de-notified land, so that their land could be handed over to them without any delay.
Reiterating Aam Admi Party (AAP) stand on the SYL issue, Mann said National Convener of AAP Arvind Kejriwal has already clarified that Punjab has no water to be shared with any other state. Right from its workers to leaders of AAP, all are determined to protect the rights of Punjabis.
