SAD-BJP will make hat-trick under Badal, says Sampla

2pAmritsar, April 14
Senior BJP leader Vijay Sampla today received a rousing welcome by party workers on his maiden visit to Amritsar after assuming charge as state chief. SAD leaders were absent from the event.
Cementing the fact that the BJP would fight the 2017 Assembly elections in alliance with SAD in Punjab, Sampla said that the party would make a hat-trick under the leadership of Parkash Singh Badal only.
Later, Sampla, who is also the Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, paid obeisance at the Golden Temple and Durgiana Temple along with his family members.
Talking to mediapersons, Sampla said that the SAD-BJP alliance was unbreakable.
On the police inaction in the instance of beating up of Cabinet Minister Anil Joshi’s brother in Tarn Taran allegedly by SAD leaders; and CPS Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu’s allegations against the SAD leadership and a section of the BJP, he said, “I admit that there can be difference of opinion on some issues, but it can be resolved. These have never affected the sanctity of the alliance between SAD and BJP,” he said.
On Dr Sidhu’s repeated statements of not contesting the elections if the BJP jumps into the fray in alliance with the SAD, he remarked “It is too early to say who will contest. These decisions are reserved for the high-level party leadership.”
Dismissing any threat from AAP, he said that all parties would fall short before the “largely accepted” SAD-BJP alliance and it would be his endeavour to achieve victory for the third time with a convincing margin.
Later, he held a meeting with party workers at Khanna Smarak office and advised them to be united. In the evening, a tea party was hosted by Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi.
