Hoshiarpur, Veteran Congress leader Capt Amarinder Singh today said he did not want to meet Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal yesterday as he only went to his residence to lodge a protest against non-payment of cane growers’ dues.
“We only wanted to bring his attention towards the plight of state’s farmers. They have been suffering due to government’s faulty policies and the CM is least bothered,” he alleged while addressing a rally here. He alleged the state needed experienced leaders to run the government in these challenging times and the Aam Aadmi Party neither had any experience nor any existence in Punjab. “Akalis may be ruling Punjab for three generations, but they are only bothered about their businesses,” he alleged.
Amarinder said this while talking to the media on the sidelines of the rally. He said that the Congress was the only party that could lead Punjab on the path of development. He denied having any differences with PPCC chief Partap Bajwa and former CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, saying everybody had the right to put forth his views.
