SAD- BJP MUST CLARIFY FIRST THEIR STAND ON THE ISSUE OF SYNTHETIC DRUGS BEFORE TO CRY ON POPPY HUSK AND OPIUM IN PUNJAB: JAKHAR

Jakhar urge to the state Government to tell that how drugs enters in to the state in the presence of Police and Intelligence Agencies

Chandigarh, July 18 : A day after the state given by the deputy chief minister that state Government will file PIL in Madhya Pradesh High Court to put ban on the opium and poppy husk cultivation in their state, the congress leader of opposition in Punjab State Assembly Sunil Jakhar while taking his statement merely as political gimmick, urged to ruling state Government of SAD- BJP that they should first clarify their stand on the use of synthetic drugs in the Punjab.

He also slammed the state Government for diverting the attention of the people from the real issues of Punjab and also putting their failure on the shoulders of the others states in the name of poppy husk and opium cultivation, whereas the synthetic drug or white powder played major role in spoiling the life of Punjab youth. He said that police along with other agencies have already exposed the multi crore drug trade in Punjab and all involved people in the trade were from the ruling political parties.

He also mentioned that if the drugs entering in the Punjab, it is failure of Punjab police and all working state intelligence. He said that due to this nexus, the synthetic drugs is easily available in the all cities and rural areas of Punjab.

Meanwhile, Leader of opposition also questioned the contribution of the Shiromani Akali Dal for the state, when they have been enjoying power in the central Government or in the state Government and they are bound to go to the MP high court to put ban on Opium and Poppy husk, where the ruling Government in MP is of Bhartiya Janta Party. He asked to the SAD that whether they raised their concern with Government of Madhya Pradesh or Central Government led by Bharitya Janta Party.

He also reminded to the state deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal that Madhya Pradesh share its boundaries with all other states, then why only youth of Punjab suffering mostly. He said that Prime minister had also expressed the concern of drugs prevailing in Punjab and also slammed the Bharitya Janta Party for not taking any effective steps against the cultivation of opium and poppy husk, where they have their own ruling parties like Madhya Pradesh.

He said that Punjab have been defamed due to the menace of drugs and BJP leaders who have lost their credibility in Punjab now have been organising prayers march against land mafia, drug mafia in the state just to save their skin before the Assembly elections.
