* Both the parties would contest the polls together and
on their own symbols
Sangrur, Terming that the SAD-BJP alliance was fully geared up for the ensuing elections for Municipal Corporations and Councils in the state, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today said that both the alliance partners would successfully contest these elections together.
Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of the Sangat Darshan in Dhuri assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister, while describing the SAD-BJP alliance as firm and everlasting, said that they were fully ready to contest these polls together. He said that both the alliance partners would fight these elections on their own party symbols and there would be no change in the seat sharing arrangement. “We will contest these elections for Municipal Corporations and Councils on the existing seat arrangement” added Mr. Badal.
Replying to another query, the Chief Minister said that the SAD-BJP alliance would sweep the polls for Delhi assembly. He said that there was a strong undercurrent in the favor of the alliance in Delhi and both the parties would get the mandate of people to serve them.
Highlighting the importance of Sangat Darshan program while addressing the public gatherings in village Ruldu Singh Wala, Rajindrapuri, Babbanpur, Bhalamgarh, Jaatimajra, Dugni, Dhuri, Ranike, Moolowal, Alaal, Rangian Sultanpur, Dhandiwal, Kumbadwal and Baalian, the Chief Minister said that it was on record that this flagship program of the state government has always been instrumental in mitigating the woes of common people. He said that the concept of Sangat Darshan was an integral part of state’s governance as it virtually brought the government at the doorsteps of people thereby bridging the communication gap between the masses and administration. Mr. Badal further said that besides acting as a catalyst for redressing the grievances of people, the Sangat Darshan programs were also helpful for the state government to adjudge the working of officers of the various departments.
Exhorting the farmers to adopt allied farming sector in the state, the Chief Minister said that it was having a huge potential in the state. He said that in order to emerge out of the current agrarian crisis, the Punjabi farmers must take the initiative of opting for the allied farming activities like Dairy farming, piggery, apiary, goatery and others. Mr. Badal said that this would help in bailing out the farmers from the crisis by supplementing their income.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Mr. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, former Ministers Jathedar Gobind Singh Kanjla, his Special Principal Secretary Mr. KJS Cheema and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Arshdeep Singh Thind.
