- Punjab inks MoUs worth Rs. 13500 for solar power projects
Dhuri (Sangrur), President Shiromani Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister Punjab S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today asserted that SAD-BJP coalition is all set to achieve clean sweep in ensuing civic polls in the state.
Stating this here today S. Badal said the poll results would be befitting reply to rejected congress and other political outfits since the wise electorates of Punjab would put their stamp of approval besides advocating the pro-people policies and development agenda of ruling combine. He made it clear that SAD-BJP was contesting polls jointly and there was strong coordination and bond between both parties.
Presiding over a function at Ranike village, S. Badal the sole motive of SAD-BJP rule was to ensure all round development of state vis-à-vis uplifting the living standard of the people at large. He said ruling alliance was working round the clock in this direction. S. Badal said the state was taking phenomenal strides in the field development besides ensuring basic amenities at ground level including supply of potable water, complete sewerage network in the state, Power, roads by incurring millions of rupees. He said SAD-BJP would remain intact with its development vision and pro-poor, pro-farmer, pro-people policies in future too.
Answering a query for getting applause from Center as Punjab has made strenuous endeavours in the field of Renewable Energy, S. Badal said Punjab would become No. 1 state in this field. He said the state was taking various initiatives to install solar power projects in different belts of Punjab. He said it was matter of immense pride that world renowned companies from United States, England, Italy etc were landing in Punjab to invest Rs. 13500 crore for solar power projects. He said memoranda in this regard have been inked between Punjab government and foreign companies.
Prominent amongst them present on the occasion included S. Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Finance Minister, Dhuri Constituency Incharge S. Gobind Singh Longowal and S. Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan Member SGPC.
