Chandigarh November 25 – The Shiromani Akali Dal today asked the
Congress leader Captain Amarinder SIngh to quit politics and face
the law of the land as an ordinary criminal for misusing politics as
a shield for amassing corrupt wealth and siphoning off billions of
dollars through fraudulent accounts in Swiss banks.
“A person and family facing such grave allegations of personal
dishonesty have no right to be in public life . As Chief Minister
of Punjab, Amarinder had been misusing the trust of the people to
defraud them of their hard earned money.,” said senior Akali leaders
S. Balwinder SIngh Bhunder, Prof Prem SIngh Chandumajra and Mr MaheshInder Singh Grewal.
It may be recalled that the Federal Tax Administration of
Switzerland has given ten days’ time to Perneet Kaur to file an appeal
for exercise of the right to be heard whereas she had denied having
any account in her name with any foreign bank when it was leaded in

Captain Amarinder Singh’s family, including his wife Praneet Kaur and
son Raninder SIngh. Captain looted Punjab to the tune of thousands of
crores of ruppes during his tenure as Chief Minister and stashed away
that money in Swiss Banks,” said the Akali leaders
In a statement here, the SAD leaders also referred to the infamous
Intranet scam involving Captain SIngh’s family, especially his son,
Raninder Singh. The scam had been exposed by the newspapers during
Captain Singh’s Chief Ministerial term.
The leaders also said that it was shocking that Mrs Praneet Kaur held
the high office of the Minister of State for External Affairs while
she was actually carrying out money siphoning activities on behalf of
her husband. She had denied having any accounts in Swiss banks but now
the Swiss authorities have confirmed.
