Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh

Uncertainty prevailed over the participation of Takht Patna Sahib Jathedar Giani Iqbal Singh in the 350th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi tomorrow.The event was boycotted by Akal Takht as it is being organised by the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat, an affiliate of the RSS.The invitation mentions that the event will be presided over by Giani Iqbal Singh, while RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will be the key speaker.However, there is no confirmation of Giani Iqbal Singh’s participation. He could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.Takht Patna Sahib’s managing committee president Harwinder Singh Sarna said the participation would be in defiance of Akal Takht’s directive. “If he chooses to attend the event, Akal Takht will surely take cognisance of it and the matter will also be taken up by our managing committee,” he said.
