Rs. 50 crore to be released for each town for development – Sukhbir Badal

Chandigarh, February 15: SAD President and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that Rs. 25 crore would be given to each constituency and Rs. 50 crore for each town for development works & asked the MLAs and MPs to constitute village level monitoring Committees to supervise and maintaining quality the works besides ensuring proper utilization of funds.

In a meeting with SAS Nagar MLAs, MPs, party office bearers and workers he asked them to interact with local inhabitants to ensure proper utilization of development grants on issues of utmost public importance. He also directed them to involve people at large in accomplishing development works so as to help in interface between government and public.

S. Badal assured Municipal Corporates of S.A.S. Nagar that sufficient funds will be allocated to the municipal wards and asked them to take suggestions from residents for utilization of funds. He also informed that state government is distributing shagans, pensions and scholarships regularly to beneficiaries and asked people to inform their elected representatives if any delay is there in getting these benefits so that prompt action could be taken.

He informed that SAD will hire vans to showcase proud history and sacrifices made by the party since its inception 1929 and a documentary film on SAD would be showcased in all the villages of state. He also asked the party workers to take pride of history of second oldest party in the country.

Exhorting the party leaders and workers to shun factionalism & devote attention for the welfare of party, he warned that discipline will be maintained at any cost and strict action would be taken against those violating party discipline.

Among others present on the occasion included MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Revenue and Rehabilitation and Information and Public Relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia, Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, CPS N.K. Sharma, MLA Ujagar Singh Wadali, President Istri Akali Dal Bibi Jagir Kaur and Jaswant Singh Bhullar.
