A day after the SIT, probing the sacrilege and police firing incidents of 2015, filed chargesheet against a former Akali MLA and five senior police officers, former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said he was ready to go to Darbar Sahib over this issue. At the same time, he dared leaders of rival parties to follow suit. He was addressing a gathering during his thanksgiving programme at Hakkuwala village in Lambi.
On the SIT, Badal said, “The SIT will do whatever is told by Capt Amarinder. If he gets happy by sending me to jail, let him do it. I am least bothered about going to prison. I have spent nearly 16 years in jails for the cause of the state.” On Cabinet berth for Harsimrat Kaur Badal, the former CM said, “Whatever the Centre will offer us, we will accept it. We are not in the NDA for any post.”
