CHANDIGARH, July 28: The Punjab Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development Minister Mr.Gulzar Singh Ranike today gave a clarion call to department for maximum contribution in the ongoing sustainable program launched by state with plantation of maximum saplings. He also announced that state will honour officers/officials with outstanding contribution in this program.
The Minister emphasized that every individual of animal husbandry, Fishries and dairy development departments should motivate their each and every contact including village sarpanches, panches and common masses for plantation of at least 2 saplings so that maximum contribution in this eco-friendlycampaign could be registered.
The Minister also asked that educational institutions, NGOs, religious organizations should also be involved as partners in this environment-friendly program to make Punjab a rich green state. Mr. Ranike said that for this purpose they have sent a communiqué to forest department as well as other departments concerned besides Punjab Agriculture University to seek cooperation from their sides.
Describing the current weather appropriate for plantation, Mr. Ranike said that officers/officials of animal husbandry, Fisheries and dairy development departments should take personal interest in thiscampaign. He said that they should ensure the plantation of at least two saplings.
