Rana Gurjeet, Raja Warring, Chaudhary Santokh – Will these be Capt’s mascots at Rally against drugs : Chugh

Chandigarh, Firing another salvo on Capt Amarinder Singh, the Congress deputy leader in Lok Sabha, BJP National Secretary Tarun Chugh Friday asked former chief minister what message he plans to give to the people of Punjab by presenting people like Rana Gurjeet Singh, Raja Warring and Chaudhary Santokh Singh as his mascots for ‘inspiration’ at his rally against drugs scheduled to be held on January 22 at Amritsar.

By announcing that liquor king Rana Gurjeet Singh will be the coordinator for the rally, Captain Amarinder Singh has made it clear what message he wants to convey. It would be more than appropriate for Amarinder Singh to also ensure presence of Jalandhar MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh and All India Youth Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring.

While Congress MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh is facing ED probe for his ‘on record’ transactions in the diary of one of the accused of Rs.6000 crore drug racket involving dismissed DSP Jagdish Bhola, Raja Warring was also accused of having links with and sponsorship of drug dealer Gurlal Singh.

The BJP has no problem with Captain Amarinder Singh’s strategy to challenge the AICC and PPCC and get the issue of leadership resolved as per his own considerations as it is the internal matter of Congress, but it won’t allow likes of Amarinder Singh to claim credit for a non-existent fight against drugs.

Terming Amarinder’s proposed rally at Amritsar as a drama to brow-beat Congress high-command and snub Bajwa, Chugh said even the Congressmen who went to Moti Mahal to have a luncheon meeting with Capt Amarinder Singh may not blindly follow Amarinder for his rally which is seen as an open rebellion against his own party.

Reacting to the reaction of some Congress leaders including Rana Gurjeet Singh on his earlier statement, Chugh said Capt Amarinder or any of his associates didn’t answer any of the questions raised by him and only tried to dub him as a junior.

“Yes, I am a proud junior of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president Sh. Amit Shah and other senior leaders of the BJP and I am proud that I am not a senior like Capt Amarinder Singh who challenges the president and vice-president of his own party just to satiate his own ego and fulfill his own vested interests. Moreover, it’s the BJP which honours its workers”, he said.

People of Punjab now understand that Amarinder, who didn’t remain loyal to Akalis and is now showing his true colours by open defiance of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, can’t be trusted. He has done nothing for Punjab and particularly the people of Amritsar, whom he now represents in parliament.

It’s high time he and his associates end taking credit for Amritsar win as people of Amritsar now regret having made a wrong choice.
