Chandigarh, July 11
Irrigation and Power Minister Rana Gurjeet Singh today welcomed the Supreme Court orders on the SYL issue hoping that the matter will be amicably resolved between the two states through negotiations.
In an informal conversation with reporters after the SC orders, Rana said, thanks to the deft and wise handling of the issue by the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, who is personally monitoring the progress in the case, now there was hope that Punjab’s interests will not be harmed.
“Congress under the leadership of Capt Amarinder Singh has always watched and safeguarded the interests of the state using all the legal, legislative and constitutional means and it will continue to do so”, he said.
