Jalandhar, Actor Rakhi Sawant apologised late last night for her allegedly derogatory remarks against Valmiki on a TV channel in July last year.
Rakhi, Khali and his team of wrestlers arrived in a hotel here around 11.30 pm to address the media. “I never meant to hurt anyone. However, if I did it in ignorance, I seek an apology from the people,” she said with folded hands.
The actor claimed that she had sought protection from the Punjab Police during her stay in the state, but her request was turned down by the local authorities.
“Though I am a judo expert, I want to learn wrestling tips from the Great Khali so that I can teach them to women in Mumbai. However, I was not allowed to enter his Jalandhar-based academy by protesters,” she said. “I urge the protesters to trust the judiciary,” Rakhi said.
On her failure to appear before a Ludhiana court on July 7, Rakhi said she was not able to board a flight from Mumbai as she had twisted a foot at home.
