- CS issues warning to CVO of rural development department for failure to maintain punctuality
Chandigarh, In continuation of the drive of Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal to ensure punctuality and regularity of Officers and Officials in all Government offices, a team led by Ms Gurpreet Sapra, Special Secretary (Personnel) inspected the office of Director, Rural Development and Panchyat and Joint Development Commissioner (IRD), in Sector 62, SAS Nagar today at 9.20 AM. Mr Hakam Singh, Joint Secretary (Vigilance) also joined the inspection team.
Disclosing this here today an Official Spokesman of the Punjab Government said that the team inspected office rooms of some senior level officers such as Director, Deputy Directors etc. and Administrative branches of the said Directorate and found 146 officers/officials absent which included Deputy Director, DCFA’s, Law Officers, Superintendent Engineers, XEN’s and other Ministerial cadres.
The surprise check lasted from 9.20 A.M. till 9.50 AM. The team of senior functionaries of the Personnel Department collected all attendance registers of the offices and has already submitted its report to the Chief Secretary to the Government of Punjab. The Chief Secretary has ordered that Mr. M.S. Sandhu, Financial Commissioner, Rural Development and Panchyat should seek explanation of the absentee officers and officials and take necessary action within seven days. In case satisfactory explanations are not received within seven days, the absentee officers/officials shall be charge-sheeted by the competent authorities. The Chief Secretary Punjab has further ordered issuance of warning to the C.V.O of the Department due to his failure to ensure punctuality and regularity.
