Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Zirakpur, April 16, 2016; Congress Vice President Shri Rahul Gandhi interacted with Party colleagues from Punjab Congress today at Zirakpur. With more than 2200 party workers, leaders, and office bearers in attendance, and representation from district to village level, members of Punjab Congress posed their questions to Rahul Gandhi who walked solo, up and down a protruding ramp responding and acknowledging their suggestions.
Congress VP made it clear that tickets would be given to only those candidates who have worked on ground while retaining a balance in representation of youth, women, experienced leaders and minorities and other marginalized groups.
Banishing the menace of Drugs, bringing in industries and employment, and making agriculture remunerative again would be the Party’s priorities should it form the government.
Instilling confidence into his colleagues, Mr. Gandhi emphasized on how once the party workers make up their mind, there is no stopping Congress from forming the government in Punjab.
All in attendance lauded Mr. Gandhi’s initiative of establishing a direct communication with the party workers at the grassroots. The unity within the party was palpable, as was the Congress VPs understanding of Punjab’s issues and the party’s commitment towards restoring the heydays of Punjab.
