Punjabi youth detained in Utah USA jail continue hunger strike to Seek better treatment

Salt Lake City, North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) expressed its serious concern about the 19 Punjabi youths who are detained in Utah County Jail and have been on hunger strike for six days to press their demands. Satnam Singh Chahal, executive director of the association, said that the detainees are demanding their release on payroll or on bond. They are also accusing the authorities of this facility for not providing enough food to them which also forced them to go on hunger strike. Chahal said that Media relation representative of Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) Mr Andrews Munov confirmed that 19 Punjabi youths of Indian origin are on hunger strike while talking over the phone with him. Chahal also confirmed while quoting Mr Andrew that this facility is on contract from the Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE). In a separate letter written to Mr Thomas S. Winkowski, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE), Chahal urged him to look into this serious matter and accept genuine demands of the Punjabi detainees who are on hunger strike since six days.
