Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
* Speaker of British Columbia calls on Charnjit Singh Atwal
Chandigarh, The Speaker of British Columbia, Mr. Raj Chouhan today called on Dr. Charanjit Singh Atwal, Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha, at Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretariat. An M.L.A. from Burnaby-Edmonds in Canada, Mr. Chouhan had a constructive discussion with Dr. Atwal on whole range of issues laying stress on promoting relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, Dr. Atwal emphasized the idea of investment opportunities for Non-Resident Indians, especially for Canada settled Punjabi community, by promising them ideal atmosphere. Mr. Chouhan was accompanied by the General Secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal, Canada andPresident of Indian Minorities and Dalit Front, Canada, Mr. Balbir Singh Changiara.
During the meeting Rural Development and Panchayat Minister, Punjab, Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, Tourism and Culture, Jail Minister, Punjab, Mr. Sohan Singh Thandal and Harpreet Singh, M.L.A. were also present.
