* 18 institutes to impart free training to middle pass youth
Chandigarh, January 30: The Punjab Government has started 6 short term free training courses under ‘Skill t o Employment Scheme’ in which unemployed youth having 8th class passed could take these training courses for self employment. The state has identified 18 recognised institutes to train unemployed youth under the scheme.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesman said that Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board would ensure training to unemployed youth between 18 and 28 years of age to enable them as self-employable. He said these 6 courses included Food Production (cook) course for 8 weeks, Food and Beverages (waiter) course for 6 weeks, housekeeping 6 week, bakery and pastry 8 weeks whereas skin care and spa therapy for 8 weeks course.
He said that institutes would also provide all tools and gadgets requisite for training. Besides successful candidates would also get scholarship. He said the institutes would also assist and extend full cooperation to these trainees for getting jobs in their respective areas including hotels and restaurants.

Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology Moti Nagar Jalandhar, Chandigarh College of Hotel Management Landran Mohali, Chitkara School of Hospitality Rajpura, CT Institute of Hotel Management Shahpur Jalandhar, Lovely Professional University Phagwara, Cordia Hospitality & Tourism Management Institute Sanghol, Fatehgarh Sahib, VLCC Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur & Amritsar, Oran Institute of Beauty & Wellness Waste Food Institute of Hotel Management Dakoli Mohali, Livan Hair Saloon & Spa Therepi Phagwara, Oran Institute of Beauty & Wellness Phagwara, Faridkot & Jalandhar.
