Ludhiana, Punjab gets another feather in the cap as online registration figure for the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for SCs, touched record number of 2,95,344 as on September 30, 2014, the last day of online registration.
Giving the details in a press communiqué , Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike, Welfare Minister, Punjab said that there has been an increase of 35.28% registrations in 2014-15. He said that online registration figure has reached 2,95,344 as compared to last year’s 2,18,323. He said that 77,021 more students have been registered on the Ashirwad portal.
Welfare Minister said that total 4403 Institutes both Government and Private are part in this scheme. “On account of rigorously pursuing the matter with GOI, central share of Rs.149.67 crore has been received first time in advance for the current year” he added.
Ms. Seema Jain, Secretary Welfare further said that state government is closely monitoring all welfare schemes and all the officers/employees have been directed to serve the people and implement the schemes in a transparent manner so that the schemes should reach at intended beneficiaries.
