Punjab police administration being run by Deli with Amarinder having no say: Khaira

Chandigarh, May 2: The AAP in Punjab today alleged that the police administration in the state was being run directly by the centre with Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh having no say.

“Capt Amarinder Singh can’t shift Director General of Police Suresh Arora as he is an appointee of National Security Adviser Ajit Doval”, said leader of AAP Legislature Party Sukhpal Singh Khaira.

Addressing a news conference here, he said Capt Amarinder Singh was functioning as a tool of the BJP government at the centre.

He perceived a deeper conspiracy to create of threat of revival of militancy in the state saying there was nothing on the ground.

The design of the BJP, according to him, is to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha polls on the so called nationalist agenda by raking up such issues.

Khaira urged the state government to withdraw changes in the history textbooks of the Punjab School Education Board saying RSS was behind this design to relegate the history of the Sikhs.

He condemned the change in the name historic of the historic Dyal Singh College in Delhi.
