Punjab orders vigilance inquiry into employees obtaining PR in foreign countries

    Vigilance bureau to complete inquiry and submit report within two months

Chandigarh,  Cracking a whip on all those erring government employees, who have got Permanent Immigration/ Green Cards of foreign countries, the Punjab Government today asked the Vigilance Bureau to conduct a thorough inquiry in the whole case and submit status report within two months.

  Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the vigilance inquiry has been ordered in the face of such reports revealing that a large number of government employees and its entities have got Permanent Resident Visas/ Green Cards/ Immigrant Status in foreign countries in gross violation of service rules. To clear the air in this regard, the Punjab government has decided to conduct Vigilance Inquiry into the whole case.  

The spokesperson further said that Chief Director, Vigilance Bureau, Punjab has been specifically asked to identify all those government employees of the State Government who had acquired Permanent Resident Visas/ Green Cards/ Immigrant Status in foreign countries in violation of the applicable rules and instructions. He said that the Vigilance Bureau has been instructed to complete the inquiry and submit the status report in a period not exceeding two months.
