* Tata Motors & Larsen and Tubro chipping in with helping hand
Chandigarh, The youth of the state are being provided vocational training with modern tools in various institutions to instill in them latest skills as per requirements of industry.
Disclosing this, a spokesperson of the Government said that the youth of the state are being equipped with the latest skills with assistance of Tata Motors in the trades of Motor Mechanic, Refrigeration and AC, Electrician, Welder, Automotive Driver (Heavy and Light Vehicles) and Diesel Mechanic. During the year 2013-14 training has been provided to 100 persons in above said trades by the institute. In year 2014-15 training has been provided to 74 youth in the above disciplines.
The spokesperson further elaborated that the Construction Skill Development Centre has been established with the assistance of Larsen & Tubro Company at village Abul Khurana in Lambi block of District- Muktsar. Training in trades of Masson, Barbender, Carpenter, Plumber, Welder and Electrician is provided at this centre. During the year 2014-15, 74 persons were given training in above said trades while in the year 2013-14 training was provided to 80 persons.
According to the spokesperson, Security Services related training courses in collaboration with the Punjab Police Security Corporation Ltd. have been started at police training centres in jehan khelan, Hoshiarpur. During the year 2013-14 trained youth amounted to 1180 while 224 youth were given training in the year 2014-15.
