Chandigarh, ‘World Hand Washing Day’ being observed on October 15th every year would be now permanent part of Swachh Bharat campaign that stated on September 25 thoughout the country
The Punjab Chief Minister, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal has issued explicit instructions to make Swachh Bharat campaign a peoples’ movement by involving public in this campaign to realise PM’s dream of a clean and hygienic India which will make its mark in the world as one of the cleanest countries’ in the world. To make this endeavour of the Prime Minister a successful one, the chief minister has desired that each and every citizen of india should be a part of ‘Swachh Bharat Campaign’ and lend a helping to the efforts being made in this regard.
Disclosing this a spokesperson of the Punjab Govt. said that this campaign was initiated on September 25 and it’s first phase would go on till 2 October. After that this campaign continues throughout the month of October. In order to this campaign a stupendous success, all the District Public Relation Officers have been instructed to take immediate steps and ensure the lifting of garbage in and around their offices and those coming under their jurisdiction.
The spokesperson further said that the on the occasion of ‘World Hand Washing Day’, which falls on 15th October, the Sanitation campaign would be initiated and aligned with Swachh Bharat Campaign so that no stone is left unturned to make our surrounding neat, clean and tidy. He also said that Punjab Govt would provide every kind of assistance to take this campaign to the pinnacle of success. He also informed that street plays will be held and posters would be displayed making people aware to keep the environment clean, so as to ensure that the message of this campaign reaches every home.
He also said that all the DPRO’S have been instructed to ensure maximum print and electronic media coverage regarding this campaign in their respective districts and areas under their jurisdiction. The spokesperson further said that this campaign is also aimed at schools so as to maintain hygienic environment thereby protecting children from falling prey to the diseases. The spokesman said that NGO’S working in the field of social service have been exhorted to help make this movement a success. He informed that people contributing to the success of this campaign would also be felicitated.
