Punjab govt directs to include all facts regarding property being registered below 2 kanals

Chandigarh, Punjab government today issued strict instructions to all Registrars/Sub Registrars and Joint Sub Registrars of all the districts to ensure inclusion of all facts regarding property being registered while registering the properties below 2 Kanals (1210 Sq. yards).

According to an official spokesman, it has come to the notice of government that despite repeated instructions people were getting their properties registered by concealing or mis-stating the facts regarding property. It has been also noticed that certain properties have been registered in violation of Punjab Apartment & Property Regulation Act, 1995. Therefore, it has been made mandatory to take an undertaking to this effect from the applicants.

Issuing a check list to all Registration authorities, the spokesman said that it would be mandatory for all authorities to check that whether plot/building was inside or outside municipal limits, whether plot/building approved by PUDA or Local Government or not, if approved then CLU, approval and notification number. If the property is not approved, whether applied to PUDA for NoC or regularization? Whether the plan of the building has been approved by competent authority or not? Besides this, they have been directed to send the information regarding registration of properties up to 2 kanal (1210 sq. yards) through email to PUDA/Local Bodies department.
