Punjab education dept. settles 39 cases in public meeting

* Dr. Cheema instructs officers to put the grievance redressal mechanism on fast pace

Chandigarh, The Punjab education department conducted a Public meeting to settle all those cases pertaining to the employees of education department upon which Hon’ble Courts has passed judgements. Disclosing this here today Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister, Punjab said that in the public meeting 65 such cases were presented before the committee and out of it 39 cases were disposed off on the spot. The Minister said that 29 another cases were forwarded to the appropriate authority to take action in light of the decision of the Hon’ble Courts.

He further said that apart from these 65 cases the grievances of another 29 employees were listened to sympathetically and the concerned authorities have been asked to take action for the redresal of grievances. The chairman of the committee was Mr. Harbans Singh, OSD (Litigation).

Dr. Cheema said that instructions to the officers have also been issued to accelerate the grievance redressal mechanism by disposing off all such case in time bound manner. He said the department would implement the verdicts given by different courts in favour of employees on priority basis. “Such public meeting would become a regular feature of the education department to act upon the grievances of the employees” said Dr. Cheema.
