MINI BUSES TAX

CHANDIGARH, DECEMBER 12: Punjab Government has accepted the long pending demand of PUNJAB Roadways/PRTC / Private Buses/ Mini Buses unions to reduce the tax.

Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the Punjab Transport Department said that tax slash issue was discussed in the cabinet and was decided to constitute a three member committee namely Punjab Transport Minister S. Ajit Singh Kohar, Finance Minister S. Parminder Singh Dhindsa and Irrigation Minister S. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon.

The spokesman further said that Mini Buses Tax have been slashed from Rs.50,000/- to Rs.30,000/- annually whereas PUNJAB Roadways/PRTC / Private Buses tax hav been reduced from Rs.3.03 to RS.2.73 per bus per kilometer per day. He further said Tax Holidays have been increased from 5 to 6 days also.

He furthe said that Punjab Government has decided to waive of Motor Vehicle Tax for ten days for those buses which did not run during the protest against sacrilege incidents in the State.

He further said that this decision would be applied on Punjab Roadways/ PUNBUS/ PRTC and other private buses.
