Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Faridkot, – The Punjab Congress led by its President Partap Singh Bajwa today staged dharna in front of the jail here to protest against the police repression in general and atrocities against students in particular who were arrested recently while stopping a bus against the molestation and death of Arshdeep Kaur who was thrown of a speeding Orbit bus near Moga.
Bajwa and other leaders were not allowed to meet the detained students. However, they were informed by the police officials that Section 307 against them had been revoked.
Bajwa warned the party would gherao the offices of the Deputy Commission and the Senior Superintendent of Police on May 18 in case these students were not released by then.
