Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, The protests by the members of the Punjab Congress Kisan cell in front of the residence of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal continued on the 4th day today.
A group of farmers shouted slogans in support of their demands that include implementation of the Swaminathan Commission report on fixing crop prices and continuing procurement by the Food Corporation of India.
They were rounded up by the Chandigarh police. Avtar Singh Seron, Surinder Singh Birkalan, Surinder Sharma, sarabjit Singh Lali and Sukhwinder Singh Seron.
They also demanded the release of Kisan wing chairman Inderjit Singh Zira who, they alleged, was arrested on false charges.
