PUNJAB CM GREETS TEACHERS, PROMISES FULL GOVT SUPPORT TO PROMOTE THEIR WELFARE

Chandigarh, September 4
Describing them as architects of the nation’s future, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday extended his greetings to the teaching fraternity on the eve of Teacher’s Day with a promise to promote their welfare and enable a congenial atmosphere in the state for their progress.
Terming their profession as one of the noblest in the world, Captain Amarinder exhorted the teachers to do their best to shape the future generations in the mould of former President of India and greater educationist Late Dr. Sarvpalli Radha Krishnan, on whose birth anniversary Teacher’s Day is celebrated every year.
In his message on the occasion, the Chief Minister urged the teachers to pledge themselves to the cause of providing youngsters, especially the needy, with the necessary learning environment required to transform their destiny. Teachers were the strongest pillar of the society and the role models for the students to emulate as they prepare themselves to face the challenges of the future and contribute to the nation’s progress, he added.
His government, said Captain Amarinder, had initiated several measures to facilitate the development of the teaching community and a positive environment to enable them to discharge their duties efficaciously. The government’s efforts to boost the welfare of the teaching fraternity would continue, he added.
