Chandigarh, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on wednesday criticised the budget presented by Punjab Finance Minister in Vidhan Sabha yesterday and said it was nothing but a reflection complete mismanagement of fiscal affairs in the state and showed how SAD-BJP’s nine year of misrule has left the state’s economy reeling under financial mess.

Addressing a press conference here AAP’s national spokesperson Sanjay Singh accompanied with Punjab convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur said Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal recently claimed that Punjab was a victim of false propaganda whereas the economy of Punjab was robust and must be appreciated by all and sundry.

However Comptroller Auditor General (CAG) of India completely exposed Sukhbir that how he was misleading the people of Punjab whereas stats economy was actually in a serious financial crisis.

Sanjay Singh quoted the CAG report which said the SAD-BJP alliance government in Punjab has been utilising 70% of its current borrowing for repayment of its earlier borrowings. This meant Badal government was not spending anything on the infrastructure and was rather spending mostly on discharging its older debt, added Sanjay.

” It means the state has seriously gotten into the debt trap in which it is taking fresh loans to pay the previous loan. So the Badal government is mortgaging properties to raise loans, sells public land or auction plot to meet its financial requirements. As a result it is not spending on infrastructural developmental work at all. The state loan has already reached Rs. 1.25 crore”, said Sanjay Singh.

Due to poor finances Badal government has been forced to cut on expenditure on education,

health, sports, art and culture.

Sanjay said the Badal government was also guilty of financial mismanagement as the CAG report clearly indicated that it was primality due to poor governance.

Punjab Congress’ reins be handed over to Prashant Kishore, Sanjay

AAP National spokesperson, Sanjay Singh took a dig at Prashant Kishore, the poll strategist hired by Punjab Congress to win party the elections in 2017 after a gap of 10 years, that he may be handed over the reins of the party.

” Since Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh has completely run out of ideas and his recommendations are being brushed aside by the party high command it would be better if the reins of the congress party in Punjab be handed over to Prashant Kishore” said Sanjay Singh.

Sanjay said Capt Amarinder looked completely dejected after the congress party high command rejected his recommendation for the Rajya Sabha nominations in which he wanted singer Hans Raj Hans and his close aide Sunil Jakhar to be in the upper house
