Talks to deputy CM of Jammu and Kashmir to ensure safety of langar providers
Chandigarh: State BJP chief Kamal Sharma has condemned the incident of attack on langar organizers rendering their services for the passengers of Amarnath Yatra and has immediately taken up the issue with deputy chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Sh.Nirmal Singh.
In a press statement issued from the party headquarters, Sharma said that the deputy chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir has assured him to take strict measures to ensure the smooth functioning of Amarnath Yatra and the safety of the langar organizers majority of whom are from Punjab.
“Sh.Nirmal Singh has informed me that the state government has sent DGP and chairman of Amarnath Shrine Board to inspect the site where langar organizers were attacked and their tent were torn by the miscreants. I have apprised the deputy chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir how the local police officials create hurdles in providing services to the passengers and often disturb them,” said the state BJP chief.
Sharma disclosed that the Sh.Nirmal Singh has assured him to increase the security of langar organizers from Punjab and Rajasthan and has given promise not to allow any miscreants to repeat such kind of lawlessness acts.
Notably, the state BJP took strong exceptions to the incident regarding attack on langar committees in Amarnath Yatra on Friday night and immediately took up the matter with Jammu and Kashmir government.
It is worth mentioned that the Punjab BJP chief during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir recently has also conducted a meeting with the Jammu and Kashmir government to co-ordinate for the smooth holding of the Yatra.
