by Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thaawarchand Gehlot, the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill, 2019, provides for protection of rights of transgenders and for matters connected herewith-their social, economic and educational empowerment. Legislation to check ‘ponzi’ schemesThe government on Friday introduced in the Lok Sabha a Bill seeking to tackle the menace of illicit deposit-taking activities. The legislation, the Banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes Bill, 2019, replacing the Banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes Ordinance, 2019, was introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The Bill provides for a comprehensive mechanism to ban the unregulated deposit schemes, other than deposits taken in ordinary course of business, and to protect the interests of depositors and for matters connected therewith.
