Chandigarh December 25 – The Shiro mani Akali Dal today described
the former Congress spokesperson Sukhpal SIngh Khehra’s joining the
AAP as a ” marriage of political frustration with political
opportunism ”

“The step exposes of the rank political opportunism of AAP and the
utter frustration of Mr Sukhpal Singh Khehra. On the one hand it
fully exposes the total political irrelevance and marginalization of
the Congress while on the other it shows how hollow are the claims of
Aam Admi Party on principled politics,.” said the SAD General
Secretary and spokesperson, Mr Harcharan SIngh Bains.
“Nothing symbolises the political cynicism of the two sides
more than the fact that the two sides had chosen the sacred occasion
of Chritsmas and the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas to crucify ideology
and principles. The ideological bankruptcy of the AAP has been fully
exposed. It now has the distinction in Punjab of being led by a
political drop-out of the SAD ( , one former Leftist leader and
another leader of the separatist Mann Akali Dal as a Members of
Parliament, and now a former Congress spokesperson as its ‘newborn
celebrity’.

Mr Bains said that no political party in the country had taken
so short a time to kill the ideology on which it was founded. “The
Aam Admi Party in Punjab is celebrating the murder of its own
principles because one of its first boasts in Punjab was that it will
never accept political dead-wood from other parties. But that is
just what it is now so gleefuly doing,. in the process, it is even
forgetting that all the entrants into the party belong to the
“defeated” category.” said Mr Bains.

In a statement here this afternoon, Mr Harcharan SIngh Bains said
that Mr Khehra did not leave the Congress on any issue of political
ideology or principles. “In fact, he has been virtually forced out
of the Congress because neither Mr Partap Singh Bajwa nor Captain
Amarinder SIngh gave him any posotion befitting his evalutation of his
own standing in the party. He had been totally marginalised by the
Congress, even though he tried desperately even with the Congress High
Command.

“Personally, I really sympathise with Mr Khehra but I pity the AAP
even more. The two have made a bonfire of the very principles of
which the AAP used to boast as its Unique Selling Points (USP),”
said Mr Bains.
