Amritsar, July 15: Union Finance Minister Mr. Aruj Jaitley today said that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi will launch Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana tomorrow to create a skilled manpower at grass root level by providing them vocational, technical and skill development education across the country.
While presiding over convocation at Global Institutes here, Mr. Jaitley said this ambitious program being launched under National Skill Development Mission would impart skill training to 24 lakh youth over the next year and trained candidates would be awarded with incentives. The Minister said this program would prove a milestone for skilled youngsters as they could become self-reliant after getting professional training. Exhorting the students to become the best he said only skilled and professionals could compete in this competitive era. On the occasion, Mr. Jaitley also conferred degrees to graduates and post graduates of Global Institutes.
Earlier Finance Minister also laid a foundation stone of a school building at Daburji to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 20 crore by Chief Khalsa Diwan, a charitable society already running more than dozen educational institutes across the state.
Meanwhile Mr Jaitley accompanied by Punjab Local Bodies Minister Mr. Anil Joshi took a round of under construction educational complex in the premises of Madhav Vidya Niketan Senior Secondary School Amritsar. This complex will have an auditorium, AC hall and conference room.
Prominent amongst those present on the occasions included Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Krishan Dev Bhandari, Punjab BJP Chief Mr. Kamal Sharma, Mayor Bakshi Ram Arora, President Chief Khalsa Diwan Mr. Charanjit Singh Chadha and senior leaders of SAD-BJP.
