eteran Tollywood actor and politician Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju, also known as Krishnam Raju, passed away on September 11. The 82-year-old actor was suffering from multiple health complications. Krishnam Raju was also called Rebel Star by many.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled Krishnam Raju’s demise on Twitter. He also posted a throwback photo with the late veteran actor and Prabhas and wrote, “Saddened by the passing away of Shri UV Krishnam Raju Garu. The coming generations will remember his cinematic brilliance and creativity. He was also at the forefront of community service and made a mark as a political leader. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti (sic).”

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao condoled the demise of veteran film actor, Krishnam Raju. CM Chandrasekhar Rao mentioned that Krishnan Raju’s demise is a great loss for the Telugu silver screen. He also mentioned the veteran actor’s contribution to films and lauded his fifty-year-long career. The CM said that Krishnam Raju served the people of the country as a member of the Lok Sabha, as a Union Minister and through the field of political administration. He further added that he prayed for his soul to rest in peace. CM Chandrasekhar Rao also expressed his deepest condolences to the family members of late Krishnam Raju.

Born in 1940, Krishnam Raju made his debut with Chilaka Gorinka in 1966 which won him a Nandi Award. In his entire acting career, the veteran actor starred in over 183 films. His last film was Radhe Shyam. He was also an active politician.
