After addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort to mark the celebrations of 73rd Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met pre-nursery girl students who tied “rakhi” on his wrist.
As soon as Modi appeared at his official residence 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, to keep an appointment with the girl students and women waiting to tie “rakhi” to him, a pre-nursery student of Shiksha Craftz Play School, Enaya Verma, spotted him.
“Modi ji aa gaye,” (Modi ji has come), exclaimed Enaya drawing Modi’s attention.
Modi met the students from about 30 schools across the country in batches.
When the batch of students of Delhi-based Shiksha Craftz Play School turned up before him, Modi engaged in a conversation with Enaya inquiring: “You were the one who said Modi ji aa gaye ?”.
Modi’s ability to establish instant rapport with children bowled all of them.
“After their appointment with the prime minister, children were exhilarated. All along their return home, they kept talking about him,” said director of Shiksha Craftz Play Scool Lata Dagar.
Modi also played with the children.
Earlier, the prime minister greeted the people on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
