Chandigarh, November 17: The Punjab Congress President Mr Partap Singh Bajwa today said the black flags protests against the Deputy Chief Minister Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal at Sangrur and Moga were the real ‘Sadhbhavna’ expressed by the people towards the present arrogant and autocratic regime.
He said under the given situation, the so called Sadhvana rallies being organized by the Akali Dal beginning with Bathinda on November 23 would be nothing more than mockery as the people were refusing to see the face of Akali leaders going by what is happening at the grassroots.
“This is the government that is scared of even preachers like Baba Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala and Baba Daler Singh whose agenda is far from being political and they are concerned only with the issue of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib. However, even they were interned in their headquarters by heavy deployment of police yesterday. A day earlier, the people did not allow Public Works Minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon to lay foundation stone of a link road. Under the given situation, what type of Sadhavna rallies it would be, only Mr Sukhbir Badal can tell”, he added.
He blasted the Deputy Chief Minister for his ‘innovative’ method of organising Sabhavna rallies under the shadow of the Khaki. He said it was out of Sadbhavna for the people that under direction from Mr Sukhbir Badal, the police came down heavily early in the morning without any provocation on men and women sitting on dharna at KotKapura on the main crossing that affected the plying of the buses of the Badal family.
He said the people in the state had now resolved to fully reciprocate this Sadhbhavna by not allowing the entry of the ministers in the villages, despite heavy deployment of police.
He alleged Punjab had now been converted into the police state but the state could not be governed with these methods. He dared Mr Sukhbir Badal to face the people if he had the courage.
