Chandigarh, June 15
The Budget session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha here was adjourned for the day on Thursday after it witnessed pandemonium over the farmers’ debt and Rana Gurjit issues.The Speaker said the issue should be raised after Question Hour. The speaker did not relent and adjourned the session after Congress MLAs also raised slogans.
Akalis sought an apology from Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu for “abusing” them. Akali MLAs also stormed into the Well of the House.
The Vidhan Sabha paid homage to Punjabi writer Ajmer Singh Aulakh, who passed away in Mansa on Thursday.
AAP leader Sukhpal Khaira waived a copy of The Tribune in the House, demanding a vigilance inquiry in the Rana Gurjit issue.
The House was again adjourned for half an hour.
Later, AAP MLAs walked into the Well of the House raising slogans against the sand mafia. They also threw papers at the Speaker and raised slogans against him.
Following this, the Speaker ordered the eviction of AAP MLAs from the House.
Ludhiana MLA Simarjeet Singh Bains was suspended for the entire session.
After the House was adjourned for the day, AAP leader HS Phoolka announced to hold a mock session outside the House.
