* Takes serious note of department not submitting reports
Chandigarh, The Public Account committee of Punjab Vidhan Sabha has taken serious note of different departments dragging their feet in submitting action taken report on its recommendation to various departments,
According to an official spokesperson the recent meeting of PAC observed that different department were not submitting their action taken report on the recommendation of PAC and regretted that its recommendations sometimes remain confine to the papers. The committee also noted that the corrective and remedial measures suggested in the report of the committee are not put in practice, resulting in continued loss to the state’s exchequer that could have been saved
The spokesperson said that it is mendatory for all departments to submit action taken report on the recommendation/observation of committee within six months from the date of presentation of report in the house.He said that in the case of delay in submission of action taken report, the concerned administrative secretary could be summed from committee for explanation.
The spokesperson said that now directions have issused to all departments to submit action taken report on all PAC reports submitted during last three years with reasons for not submitting the reports during stipulated time. These directions have been issused for strict compliance.
