Sanjay Dutt was released on a two weeks’ furlough by the Yerwada Central Jail authorities on December 24.
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who was released on a two weeks’ furlough by the Yerwada Central Jail authorities on December 24, was spotted at a special screening of PK, which features the actor in a pivotal role.
The screening was hosted for Mr Dutt, by PK director Rajkumar Hirani and co-producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra December 25, in Mumbai. However, the film’s lead actors Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma gave the screening a miss.
Mr Dutt attended the screening with his wife Maanyata and children Iqra and Shahraan. The family looked happy to have him among them.
The incarcerated actor is currently serving a five-year jail term since nearly 18 months in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.
Time and again, Mr Dutt’s demand for parole has raised questions, to which he had earlier said, “I didn’t get any special treatment. I had applied for furlough five months back, and then later it was sanctioned. Thanks for all your support.”
Meanwhile, Mr Dutt is aware that Rajkumar Hirani is making a biopic on him and they will reportedly discuss about the film in these two weeks. Mr Dutt has documented most of his side of the story and its authentication is a work in process. Actor Ranbir Kapoor has reportedly been roped in for the lead role.
