Hoshiarpur, Sikh leader Baljit Singh Daduwal, who was released from Hoshiarpur jail on bail this evening, took on the Akali-led state government saying that it strayed from the Panthic issues.
“It’s a pity that there is a Panthic government in Punjab, but despite that it has an anti-Sikh stand. Instead of working on the agenda of the RSS, the government should follow the ideals of Sikhism,” he said.
He alleged the sedition cases against Sarbat Khalsa organisers and jathedars appointed during the congregation were false and there was nothing that could be termed as sedition.
Daduwal said: “Now when the courts have proved them wrong, the government should cancel the cases registered against all Sikh leaders.”
“Any religious organisation, including the RSS, is free to preach its religious thoughts and follow them, but no one should interfere in the matters of any other religion. Any kind of religious or political interference is not acceptable,” Daduwal added.
Meanwhile, he was given a warm welcome by his followers and supporters.
