OSD to Punjab Chief Secretary apologises in High Court

Chandigarh, The Officer on Special Duty to the Punjab Chief Secretary today extended unconditional apology in the Punjab and Haryana High Court for ignoring earlier directive on delimitation of wards in the local bodies. The High Court had taken a serious note of non-implementation of its orders on this issue.
Accepting the apology of S S Dhaliwal, the court fixed December 22 as the date for next hearing.
It may be mentioned that the Congress MLA Randip Singh Nabha from Amloh had petitioned the High Court on the issue of delay in holding elections to the local bodies. Justice Rajan Gupta had directed the state government to provide information to the court on the issue. However, on last Wednesday, the court was informed that Dhaliwal had refused to implement the orders of the court on delimitation. The court took strong notice of it and Justice Gupra directed Dhaliwal to appear personally at the next hearing. The unconditional apology was accepted by the court today.
Randip Nabha had stated that his objections to the delimitation of the wards in Mandi Gobindgarh were not being considered.
