“Now I know problems of Punjab better than Badals and Captain”: Kejriwal

JALANDHAR: After four days of an extensive tour of Punjab, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today claimed that he knows the problems of state better than Badals duo and Captain Amarinder Singh.

“I have come across different sections of society including farmers, businessmen, youth, women and elders and now I am confidant of knowing the sins of state better than any other politician”, Kejriwal vowed while declaring that very soon he would come with the solution of these sins.

Addressing the business community at Jalandhar, Kejriwal said that unlike other parties, AAP does not want to impose their policies on them, rather it would be they, who would actually frame policies for themselves.

Very soon Punjab Dialogue would be initiated in which all stake holders could participate with their grievances as well as with its solutions to incorporate in the Poll Manifesto, Kejriwal said.

“In Delhi we won 67 seats out of 70, because people expressed faith in us, Kejriwal said revealing that this faith was felt just a week before the poll, but in Punjab the same faith could be felt at least one year before the polling in 2017.

“It is astonished to know that such a huge numbers of industrial units got closed in Punjab due to bad governance”, Kejriwal said claiming that mutual efforts would definitely change the situation.

In Delhi also the situation was not different due to corruption, but after one year there is drastic change because AAP Government business community into confidence and curb the Inspector Raj and un-necessary raids.

Later on an interaction session was held in which Industrialists rued of growing corruption, high electricity tariff, non-payment of VAT refunds, and poor infrastructure in focal points.

After listening to the grievances of industrialists, Kejriwal took note of it with a promise of the adequate solution of all these.

During the meeting with Non Resident Indians (NRIs) at AAP’s office in Cheheru, NRIs revealed that how NRIs were being harassed by the state government and their properties are being encroached by Akali goons

“We want to build our Punjab by adopting villages, but the state government, instead of supporting our efforts, rather create hindrances in it”, stated a group Indo-Canadian NRIs.

After giving a patient listening to the grievances of NRIs, Kejriwal said “NRIs have a big role to play in building Punjab and AAP government would work hand in hand with them for the prosperous of their motherland”.

Earlier, last night, Kejriwal had a detailed discussion with the business community of Amritsar where industrialists demanded freight equalisation policy for the land-locked state of Punjab.

Even the power tariff which is about Rs 8 per unit, which is higher than any other state, Industrialists rued adding that there is virtually no infrastructure in the focal points.

Some of the Builders also complained of the amass corruption in the state government for giving even a valid No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and even the stamp duty of 11% is highest in the country.

Kejriwal assured them of taking care of all the grievances aired by the industrialists & builders in AAP’s poll document.
