Novak Djokovic continues dominance on unchanged top 10 in latest ATP rankings

New Delhi: English giants Liverpool celebrate the Golden Jubilee in their all-red jersey colour since wearing them for the first ever time in 1964. Liverpool who are regarded as the Reds, wore the jersey for the first time against Anderlecht in the European Cup at Anfield.

Since then everything has been part of a successful era where the club won 12 domestic league titles, five European Championships and three UEFA Cup and Super Cup. This made them be regarded as one of Europe’s best clubs and a lot of work has gone on since then. Prior to the official red jersey, Liverpool wore the blue and white strip which looked similar to that of Blackburn Rovers’ outfit.

Here is the team’s photograph wearing the red jersey for the first ever time.

Former Carlisle United and Preston North End player Bill Shankly, who took over as Liverpool manager in 1959, was the think-tank behind the iconic red jersey for Liverpool. Shankly who managed the Reds for 15 years paved a way for success and won many honours during his reign.

Shankly who had once stated that when they wore the all-red for the first time, the players looked like giants and they also played like giants.
