Nomination process for 8 MCs ends : 1853 nominations filed

* Paper Would Be Scrutinized on Feb. 12

Chandigarh, The nomination process for Municipal Corporation elections ended today and in total 1853 number of nominations was filed.
Disclosing this here today an Official Spokesman of the State Election Commission said that today was the last day for the filing of nominations for the Municipal Corporation elections which is scheduledon February 22, 2015.
Divulging the detail he said that for the SAS Nagar Mohali 309 nominations were filed where as for Bathinda 287, for Hoshiarpur 236, for Moga 357, for Pathankot 363 and for Phagwara 280 nominations were received up till last day of nominations. He further said that in Patiala for bye election of 2 wards in total 17 nominations and for bye election of one ward of Jalandhar 4 nominations were filed. He said that the scrutiny of the nomination papers would be held on February 12 and last day for withdrawal of papers is February 13,
2015.
