Chandigarh, November 15- Expressing deep shock and anguish over the most brutal and inhuman terrorist attacks in Paris that claimed over 150 innocent lives and left nearly 200 others grievously injured on Friday night, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today said that this senseless violence was an outrage against humanity and deserves to be condemned in the strongest possible words by everyone, regardless of religion, region, nation or any other persuasion.

In a letter to Ambassador of France to India Mr. François Richier, the Chief Minister said that he personally and on behalf of the people and Government of Punjab strongly condemn the ideology of violence which has no respect for human life and for sacred values of peace, love and understanding among people professing different faiths. He categorically said that there was no place for this ideology in a civilised world.

The Chief Minister said that the most heinous and condemnable as this brutal act was, it was even more so happening as it does in the land that has stood out for centuries as a symbol of peace, freedom of thought and expression, democracy and tolerance to the entire world. He said that the people of Punjab join him in extending to you not only our deepest sense of shock, grief and outrage over these mindless acts but also our complete solidarity and support to the peace loving people of the great French nation. “We fully share the pain and sorrow of the affected families and wish to assure them through you that we stand by them in their hour extreme grief” added Mr. Badal.
