Singhpur Jattan (Dasuya), May 5: Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today while terming the Moga bus incident as ‘very unfortunate’ said there was no need of imposition of Governor Rule in state. He said that Punjab government had taken ‘prompt and strictest’ action and Punjab Police had registered a criminal case under section 302 of the IPC and culprits had been arrested.

Answering media queries after presiding over a function to mark 292nd birthday of great Sikh warrior Maharaja Jassa Singh Ramgarhia here, Mr. Badal said instead of expressing solidarity with the family in this hour of deep grief, the Congress and AAP was politicizing the issue from day one. He said the demand of imposing Governor Rule in the state and CBI probe into the whole episode was the outcome of frustration of these parties as they had been rejected by the people not only in Punjab but in the entire nation. He said both parties were vying for second position in the state since they had understood the fact that the electorate of the state would re-elect the incumbent alliance in future.

“We have taken strictest action by lodging an FIR under section 302 of IPC besides arresting the culprits. Punjab Government is fully committed to ensure justice to the family of the victim. Strict compliance of Motor Vehicle Act will also be ensured in the state,” he added.

In a query regarding the recent visit of BJP President Mr. Amit Shah in Punjab, Mr. Badal said that ties of SAD-BJP alliance were unflinching and the ruling alliance will again come to power in 2017.

Mr. Badal also accused the Congress Party for deliberately defaming the name of Punjab in the country and world on the issues of drugs. He said that Punjab was a transit route of drugs being smuggled from Pakistan and Afghanistan but this anti-state party left no stone unturned to tarnish the hard earned image of state. He also asked the people of state to differentiate between the rule of SAD-BJP and Congress to evaluate the level of development before casting votes. He said that there were rare political personalities like Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, who dedicated their entire life for the interests of people and state.

Ridiculing the recent visit of Congress Vice President Mr. Rahul Gandhi, who came to Punjab in a general coach of train, Mr. Badal said that it was all a photo-ops exercise. He said that there was no public concern behind the visit of Mr. Rahul it was an exercise to grab the headlines.
