MS Dhoni Pays Homage to APJ Abdul Kalam, Says His Hard Work Made Him a Legend

ss1MS Dhoni paid rich tributes to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on Thursday and said that the former President was a legend and an inspirational figure for the entire country.
Dr Abdul Kalam was buried with full state honours at a public ground in Tamil Nadu’s Rameswaram town where he was born, on Thursday morning. As thousands gathered to bid their final farewell,� Dhoni told reporters in Ranchi that he was a big admirer of Dr Abdul Kalam and that India had lost a legend.
“He reached the top through sheer hard-work. There is no better success story than his. He was the ideal role model for everyone in the country,” said Dhoni. “Not a lot of people get the opportunity to see such greatness and we are very glad to have seen him.”
Dhoni also felt that the country should follow Dr Kalam’s example and be dedicated in the path towards progress.
“He always believed in working hard. That is what his motto was. It is a sad day for us but he left behind a lot for us to learn from,” said Dhoni.
Known as the Missile Man of India, Dr Abdul Kalam played a pivotal role in the Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan and India’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna.
As for Dhoni, he is relaxing with his family in Ranchi and playing football to keep himself fit for the long season ahead. Dhoni has retired from Test cricket and remains India’s ODI and T20 skipper.
