Motorola has rolled out the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update for its Moto G (2nd gen) smartphone. While the Moto G 2 has been confirmed to have received the software upgrade, the older Moto G smartphone has also been reportedly upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
The new Android OS brings a new user interface to enable better, more natural touch screen interactions. It also introduces vivid new colours, typography, and edge-to-edge imagery.
The new Android version lets users catch up with notifications on your lock screen and even dismiss them without unlocking. Android L’s new “Downtime” and “Interruption” settings also allow users to decide what people and what notifications get through at times that you choose.
The software upgrade will automatically prompt on screen. However, users can also manually check for the update. It is highly recomended that users keep a backup of their data (internal memory) before upgrading to Android Lollipop.
How to upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop:
1. Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.
2. Select “About phone”
3. Select “System updates”
4. Select “Yes, I’m in”. After the software is downloaded, select “Install”
5. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically
